There is a link on CMLsi to a Columbus Dispatch article about Central Ohio (Columbus in particular) that is interesting. "Data From Central Ohio Tells Two Tales" talks about the area in relation to other cities it may want to emulate (or not). I find the fervor created by Net Jet to be strange and the arts comments interesting. What do you think?

What I find interesting:

They mention transportation, but only NetJets gets a positive spin. SkyBus just went bankrupt and other carriers are in trouble. Any way you slice it, there's not much "potential" for 24,000 new jobs. Doing what?

They say that culture is lacking, but yet one of the documents on this page cites ProMusica and Franklin Park Conservatory as "trailblazing". No mention of the art organizations that are taking real chances every day such as Madlab. At least they mentioned the Kehinde Wiley exhibit at the The Columbus Museum Of Art. Ballet and symphony commissions highlighting new artists are great, but to me those forms of art have a strong foothold and they are more a part of the conservation rather than innovation movement.

They mention libraries, but only how many per capita, not how many user visits or circulated materials.

Yes, this article left a lot to be desired and makes you wonder what their agenda is.
